What to include for Pakistan

  • Full name, city, mobile number and professional email
  • Education in local format (Matric, FSc/FA, Bachelor, Master) with board/university and year
  • Work experience with employer names and clear dates
  • Technical skills and computer skills — employers screen for these

What to leave out

  • CNIC number on the public CV (share it only at the hiring stage)
  • Father's name and full home address — city is enough
  • Religion, sect and marital status

Photo, language & spelling

Photo: Common on local CVs and often expected by traditional employers; optional for multinational companies. Never include your CNIC number unless an employer explicitly asks for it during hiring.

Spelling: British English spelling is standard (organise, behaviour).

Documents employers commonly request

  • CNIC copy (hiring stage only)
  • Educational documents; HEC attestation is often required for Gulf work-permit processing
  • Experience letters from previous employers

Local insight

For jobs abroad, state your passport readiness and notice period.

A clean, typed CV beats a decorated one — most Pakistani employers forward CVs through email and WhatsApp, so keep the file small and readable on a phone.
